Holywell is a village on the south east Northumberland border with Tyne & Wear, 2 miles from the coast and 10 miles north east of Newcastle upon Tyne.

Holywell Dene runs from Seaton Delaval via Holywell and on to Seaton Sluice where it meets with the harbour. For more information click here for the Friends of Holywell Dene web site.

The general day to day maintenance of the Dene is looked after by volunteers from the Friends of Holywell Dene, this includes strimming, path maintenance, clearing fallen trees or branches and keeping the Seaton Burn, which flows through it, clear of debris.
